Kingsmen Sweep Scarlet Hawks

CHICAGO, Illin. — No. 13 California Lutheran University men's volleyball has claimed another victory on their week long road trip in Illinois. The Kingsmen claimed their third straight win in a 3-0 sweep of the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks.

Freshman setter Taylor Marks continued to distribute the ball well with 40 assists on the match.

The Kingsmen led the first set wire to wire, taking a 6-2 lead and cruising to a 25-20 victory.

The second set saw the Scarlet Hawks up 18-15, but he Kingsmen fought back to 18-18. That would prove to be Illinois Tech's only lead of the match. Cal Lutheran took 7 of the last 10 points en route to a 25-21 win.

The Kingsmen left no doubt in the final set with 16 kills and only 5 errors. The defense held Illinois Tech to only a .032 hitting percentage. Cal Lutheran rode that control on both sides of the net to a 25-18 set win to finish their 3-0 sweep in the match.
