Kingsmen Fall to Division I-II CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Tonight, the California Lutheran University Men's Volleyball took on Division I-II team, the Matadors of California State University – Northridge. The Matadors took the match in three sets 25-12, 25-19, 25-13.

The Kingsmen served well in set 1 with more aces and fewer missed serves, but CSUN's 14-3 advantage in kills led to a 25-12 victory.

The second set saw the Kingsmen even up the offensive output with 9 kills for each team. Cal Lutheran also continued to pressure the Matadors by continuing to lead in aces. Hitting errors proved to be the difference as CSUN took set 2 25-19.

Cal Lutheran limited errors in the third set and forced the Matadors to earn their points. In a similar manor to the first set, a 15-6 kill advantage for CSUN led to a final score of 25-13 and a 3 set victory for the Matadors.

The Kingsmen were led on offense by sophomore Max Strehl who had 4 kills in the match. Connor Hinthorn and Ben Weber provided 3 kills along with 2 aces from Hinthorn.

The Kingsmen will be back on the court tomorrow night at 7:00pm against Saint Katherine in Gilbert Arena.
