Kingsmen Show Off Their Depth - Sweep St. Katherines

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. —California Lutheran University Men's Volleyball played host to the University of St Katherine Firebirds tonight. The match was never in doubt as the Kingsmen took a 3-0 sweep 25-14, 25-15, 25-15. Cal Lutheran was able to show off some depth with 15 different Kingsmen recording a kill in the match.

Through a combination of tough serving and lots of block touches helped the Kingsmen control the Firebird offense and force them into errors. On the match, Cal Lutheran held St. Katherines to a -.051 hitting percentage. The Kingsmen totaled 8 blocks and forced 22 errors.

Solid passing and defense in the back row allowed Cal Lutheran to stay in system for most of the match. Working with their options, Kingsmen setters were able to distribute opportunities throughout the roster, en route to 30 total kills and a .207 team hitting percentage.

The top scorers for the match were Max Strehl and Ryker Linn who added 7 points each.

The Kingsmen will be back in action on Friday February 4 when they host The Master's University at 7:00pm.
