ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week 30 Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran's Timmy Kahovec was selected as the Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
The Kingsmen competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite which hosted 1,500 athletes from the professional ranks as well as Division I, II, III and NAIA programs.
A senior from Saugus, Calif., Kahovec competed in long distance for the Violet and Gold. He ran in the 800-meter run. He finished fifth, out of 107 competitors, as he crossed the finish line with a time of 1:54.01. He currently sits in second on the CLU top-10 list for the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.25.
The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
