REDLANDS, Calif. – The Cal Lutheran Kingsmen recorded four podium finishes on day two of the SCIAC Track & Field Championships at Ashel Cunningham Track as the team collected seven top-ten finishes in total.
Obasi Dees led the way with two top-three finishes. He earned silver in the 4x100 meter relay alongside Chris Brodnax, Trent Mosley and Wendell O'Brien. He later went on to finish third with a 21.90-second 200-meter dash. He also took home fourth in the 100-meter dash at 10.87 seconds, just .05 seconds shy of the podium.
Brodnax and Timmy Kahovec both also reached the podium in third place. Brodnax ran the 400-meter dash in 49.30 seconds and Kahovec ran the 800 in 1:56.33.
Kahovec also went on to finish fifth in the 1500-meter run at 4:03.86 and sixth in the 4x400 meter relay with Brodnax, Connor Neufeld-Griffin and Dees with a 3:23.37 mark.
