Regals Earn First Win of the Season

 

PASADENA, Calif. – The California Lutheran University women's swimming and diving team got in the win column for the first time this season with an impressive 159-111 win over Caltech.

RESULTS

The Regals got the start they wanted as the quartet of Avery Conrad, Emily Glass, Kyrie Fairbairn and Emily Sharpe won the 400-yard medley relay with a team time of 4:19.03.

Sharpe continued her great day in the pool with another victory, this time in the 1000-yard freestyle. Eve Miygishima was right behind Sharpe, doing well to finish in second place for the event.

Conrad earned her second event victory when she took first place in the 100-yard backstroke and grabbed her third first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.

Finishing first and second in the 100-yard breaststroke were Glass and Brieyana Walton. Mckenzie Kelly and Madisyn Morin also finished first and second respectively in the 200-yard butterfly. 

 Glass showed out for yet another victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:35.84.

Sharpe returned to the pool for the 500-yard freestyle and turned heads with a time of 5:32.08 to take first place in the event.

Kelly won the 100-yard butterfly towards the end of the meet and Conrad ended the meet on a high note with her fourth event victory of the day, this time in the 400-yard IM.

Cal Lutheran will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Redlands to face the Bulldogs Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
