THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.– The California Lutheran University women's swimming and diving started their season on a high note, reaching the podium in numerous events on the day as they earned a fourth-place finish at the Malibu Invitational.
The Regals got things started in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Avery Conrad, Emily Glass, Kyrie Fairbairn and Brieyana Walton came in sixth with a time 1:59.64.
McKenzie Kelly was the first Regal to reach the podium with a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a time of 2:20.03.
Glass got her day started with a solid time of 2:37.06, good enough for fifth place in the event.
Grabbing the only event victory of the day was Walton, racing to an impressive time of 24.53 in the 50-yard freestyle to notch a first-place finish.
The Regals get back in the pool Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. when they host Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne for a tri-meet at the Samuelson Aquatic Center.
