Glass Sets School Record at SCIAC Championships

COMMERCE, Calif. – Emily Glass broke a school record in her last collegiate swim, the 200-yard breaststroke, as Cal Lutheran finished seventh at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.

"Emily Glass broke the 200-breast record, she dedicated most of her career at CLU to breaking the record." said Head Coach Barry Schreifels. "

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps came out victorious at the conference meet with 1,196 points. 

The final day of the SCIAC Championships included the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

With her time of 2:25.15 in the 200-yard breaststroke, Glass set a new school record. This record had stood for 14 years before Glass shattered the previous time to etch her name in the Cal Lutheran record books.

Emily Sharpe earned seven points for her team by finishing 12th overall in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:17.00.

McKenzie Kelly competed in the 200-yard butterfly and also did well to earn seven points for her team by placing 12thwith a time of 2:13.93.

The Regals relay team in the 400-yard freestyle relay touched the wall in seventh place to wrap up the meet.

Cal Lutheran's successful 2020 campaign comes to an end and they will look to build upon this season in the fall when they prepare for the 2020-2021 season.
