Regals Fall to Athenas, Panthers at Tri-Meet

 CLAREMONT, Calif.– The California Lutheran University women's swimming and diving posted some great individual performances Saturday morning in Claremont, Calif., but were edged by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Chapman at the tri-meet. 

RESULTS

The Athenas would come out victorious with 74 points and the Panthers came in second with 62 points while the Regals would finish with 54 points to come in third. 

The quartet of Avery Conrad, Emily Glass, Ivana Reyes and Kyrie Fairbairn got things started in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a time of 1:59.61 to finish sixth in the race.

McKenzie Kelly began her day with a fifth-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle to kick off the distance competitions.

Glass returned to the pool for the 100-yard breaststroke and put in a solid fourth-place finish with a time of 1:12.62. The senior also raced in the 200-yard breaststroke and placed fifth in the event.

Conrad also continued her meet with another fifth-place finish for her team in the 200-yard backstroke.

Cal Lutheran's next competition will be Nov. 23-24 when they travel to take on Caltech and Occidental.
