Curtin SCIAC Field Athlete of the Year; Johnson, MacKinnon Join Curtin on All-SCIAC List

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Cooper Curtin was named the Field Athlete of the Year in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and Danny Johnson and Jake MacKinnon joined him with an All-SCIAC honor, the conference announced Wednesday morning.

Curtin (Portland, Ore.) earned his second All-SCIAC honor in the pole vault. After placing third last year, Curtin was a mission to make it to the top of the podium. He did just that as he cleared 4.81 meters and took gold.

Johnson (Oswego, Ore.) garnered his first All-SCIAC honor. He competed in the high jump and placed third as he cleared 1.77 meters. 

MacKinnon (Orcutt, Calif.) earned his second All-SCIAC honor as he took third in the hammer throw. He had a throw of 43.98 meters and took bronze.  

The Kingsmen have the APU Last Chance and the Redlands Final Qualifier as individuals try and qualify for the NCAA Championships.
