Kingsmen, Regals Track & Field Earn All-Academic Team Award

NEW ORLEANS — The Cal Lutheran men's and women's track & field teams both showed they can compete on the track, in the field and in the classroom and earned 2020 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic Awards.

The USTFCCCA annually recognizes teams with a 3.1 GPA or better on its annual All-Academic list. In total, 150 men's teams made the academic cut while 209 women's teams were recognized.

"I am extremely proud of both our men's and women's programs for their accomplishments," said track & field head coach Matt Lea. "It shows how hard they work not only in their sport but just as hard in the classroom. I can be more proud of each and every one of them!"

The men's squad combined for a 3.16 grade-point average (GPA) while the women recorded a 3.408. The teams stood out in all phases of the student-athlete experience during the 2020 track & field seasons.
