WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.— The sixth annual Victory Club Golf Tournament took place all Monday long at North Ranch Country Club and consisted of contests, the tournament and ended with prizes.
This year's tournament had a Texas Scramble 18 holes of best ball, and several contests that included longest drive, putting and closest to the pin (twice). Numerous Cal Lutheran coaches and student-athletes volunteered to help support the event. The cheer team helped with the silent and live auction as well as the raffle drawings.
The day started with the putting contest, and Cal Lutheran's own Felix Martinez sank his try and won the event.For the Texas Scramble, the winning team posted a score of 17-under-par and the next closest team at 16-under.
After the round of golf, the event continued with 53 silent auction items as well as nine raffles consisting of golf clubs, golf balls, a Southwest gift card and Amazon gift card.
The live auction items included two tickets to the Texas/Texas Tech game with a Delta airline voucher, a two-night stay at a Lake Tahoe golf retreat, foursome golf package at La Purisima Golf Club and seven-night stay at a four-bed, four-bath house in Colorado.
The 2019 golf tournament had tee sponsors at every hole. There were also five general sponsor levels and the National Champion tee sponsor was Mamba Sports Academy. Thousand Oaks Inn was also a major sponsor. Pegasus Transportation was a West Regional Champion sponsor and the SCIAC Champion sponsor was BSN and Mondo. The Coaches Circle sponsors included Churchill & Associates Insurance Services, Inc., the Howie family, Geminii Services Inc., BSN Sports, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Hampton Inn & Suites, Sodexo and University Village.
The funds raised from the Victory Club Golf Tournament will go to help support all 22 intercollegiate sport programs at Cal Lutheran to help enhance the student athlete experience.
