ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran's Christian Antezana, Caleb Casimere, James Holland and Cameorn Kroshavn were selected.
Antezana was the Football Specialist of the Week, Casimere was the Football Defensive Player of the Week, Holland was the Football Offensive Player of the Week and Korshavn was the Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Antezana (Lafayette, Calif.) earned the second Specialist of the Week award of his career in the Kingsmen's 29-21 loss to UW-Stout. As a punter, he recorded five attemps for a total of 196 yards, including a long of 59. Two of his kicks landed inside the 20-yard line and two were fair caught. The senior averaged 39.2 yards per punt and also converted all three of his extra-point attempts.
Casimere (Orinda, Calif.) was awarded his first Defensive Athlete of the Week award in his career. The junior was a key member of the Violet and Gold's defensive unit in the hard-fought loss. The defensive lineman tallied four total tackles, two solo and two assisted, including a pair of sacks for a loss of six yards.
Holland (Lancaster, Calif.) earned his first Offensive Athlete of the Week award. The junior wide receiver hauled in six receptions for 108 yards. In addition to averaging 18 yards per catch, he had one touchdown and a long reception of 39 yards.
Korshavn (Torrance, Calif.) gave Kingsmen soccer the win and all three points with his absolute screamer of a goal in the 81st minute of their 1-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. The sophomore defender was cool and calm in the defense, contributing to the team's clean sheet from his left back position. His shot was a volley from 30 yards out and was rocketed into the back of the net, giving Cal Lutheran the game-winning goal.
