Brewer, Nybo and Sanchez Complete Day One at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2019 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships have officially begun and the trio of Cal Lutheran athletes – junior Ben Brewer, sophomore Andreas Nybo and senior Grace Sanchez – each have one event under their belts.

In the morning's preliminaries, Brewer came in 22nd in the 500-free at 4:34.82, just two seconds short of the cutoff in a sub-five minute race. In the 200-individual medley, Nybo came in 27th, clocking in at 1:52.29. And rounding out the crew, Sanchez finished 42nd in the 50-free, touching the wall at 23.93.

Though the three did not compete in tonight's finals (top 18), the competition continues tomorrow inside the Greensboro Aquatics Center at 10 a.m. EST.
