Thomas Named D3football.com Team of the Week Wide Receiver

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— A breakout performance from Jajuan Thomas (Escondido, Calif.) got him national attention as he was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

The junior wide receiver is the third Kingsmen to earn the honor this year, making it three out of the five weeks CLU has played that they have claimed a spot. It is also the second straight week a Kingsmen has been named to the team.

With just six catches, Thomas totaled 214 yards and scored two touchdowns as CLU took down the defending SCIAC champion, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 37-7. He hauled in touchdown receptions of 70- and 41-yards and also caught a pass of 51-yards to average an astonishing 35.7 yards per catch. He was two yards shy of tying the program record for receiving yards in a game. Eric Rogers, a D3football.com First Team All-American, holds the mark at 216.

"Jajuan's a tremendous talent in a talented position group for us," said football Head Coach Ben McEnroe. The sky's the limit for him. If he continues to work to be the best version of himself, he'll create the opportunity to play after his career at CLU. I am very happy for his success."

The Kingsmen are one of two undefeated teams in conference play and look for their third straight conference win on Saturday. Cal Lutheran travels to Pomona-Pitzer with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
