Crawford, Ramirez Earn SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced Cal Lutheran's Mandy Crawford and Marcus Ramirez as their Athlete of the Week honorees on Monday afternoon.

Crawford was selected as the women's soccer offensive player of the week for her stellar performance in the Regals' 3-0 win over La Verne on Saturday night. The freshman made her presence felt in the attack, scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in the contest. The Simi Valley, Calif. native slipped a wonderful pass into the box which Alexandra Fagerberg finished to give the forward her assist. Crawford then scored the final goal of the contest when she showed her skill in front of goal, rounding the keeper and slotting her chance into the back of the net.

Ramirez was selected as the football specialist of the week for his explosiveness in the return game. The freshman had a great day returning kicks in a 55-21 win over Occidental, totaling 170 yards in his two attempts, including an 89-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
