THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— Cameron Jones of Cal Lutheran football was selected as the Special Teams Returner of the Week by D3football.com, announced Tuesday morning.
This is the 21st season that D3football.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week. Jones (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) is the fourth Kingsmen to earn Team of the Week honors this year and the second to do so at the returner position.
On his first punt return of the day, Jones raced to the endzone, eluding many tacklers, as he scored an 89-yard touchdown. He almost broke another, in the 59-20 win against Whittier, but was tripped up after 34 yards for an average of 61.5. He also added two touchdown receptions.
