THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.– Cal Lutheran's Marcus Ramirez was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and garnered the Special Teams Returner of the Week award.
He is the second Kingsmen to earn recognition this year as Ethan Pulley was part of the Team of the Week announced on Sept. 24.
Ramirez (Imperial Beach, Calif.) averaged 85 yards on two kickoff returns in a 55-21 win vs. Occidental. On his first return, the freshman caught the ball at the Cal Lutheran 4-yard line and ran it back 81 yards to Occidental's 15. For an encore, Ramirez took the ball at the CLU 11 and returned it 89 yards for a touchdown.
This is the 21st season that D3football.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week.
The Kingsmen continue SCIAC play this weekend as Cal Lutheran host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday at 7 p.m.
