Regals Blank St. Katherine to Stay Flawless

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran extended their unbeaten streak to four matches after shutting out St. Katherine 7-0, Saturday afternoon in San Marcos, Calif.

The Regals (4-0) received a total of one point for sweeping the doubles competition. The duo of Carolina Groff Hinojosa and Sophia Gawrit combined for a quick 6-0 victory.

Lilijana Peters-Semak and Brennan Foreman followed with a 6-0 win of their own and then JoAnn Taylor and Joslin Seaberg completed the sweep with their 6-3 win in number two doubles.

Heading over to the singles side, Taylor, competing as the number three, made quick work over her opponent in her 6-2, 6-1 win to start things off. Foreman grabbed a 6-2, 6-4 victory without too much trouble. In the top spot for singles, Peters-Semak won a tiebreak to take her match 6-3, 7-6.

Seaberg dominated her match to pick up a 6-1, 6-0 win while Heidi Levanen won her match 8-0 before Groff Hinojosa closed the competition with an 8-1 victory.

Cal Lutheran begins Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play tomorrow Feb. 16 at 2 pm. when they travel to Orange, Calif. to face Chapman.
