Regals Continue Undefeated Streak

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran hosted George Fox (Ore.) in their season opener and continued their undefeated season with a dominant 8-1 win over the Bruins.

The Regals opened the contest by sweeping all three doubles matches, beginning with the duo of Lilijana Peters-Semak and Brennan Foreman who made quick work of their opponents with an 8-0 victory.

Carolina Groff Hinojosa and Sophia Gawrit cruised to an 8-4 win to extend the lead before JoAnn Taylor and Joslin Seaberg gutted out a tight back-and-forth match ended in an 8-7 win after a tiebreak.

Heading into the singles competition with a 3-0 lead, Peters-Semak continued her dominant with a 6-4, 6-1 win to keep Cal Lutheran's momentum going in the right direction.

Foreman then comfortably won her match in the number two spot, 6-1, 6-1, to make it a 5-0 lead and effectively clinch the win for the Regals.

In number three singles, Taylor won her match 6-3, 6-1 and Seaberg followed with a quick 6-3, 6-0 win. 

Heidi Levanen put away her opponent with ease to end the day, taking her match 6-1, 6-1.

Cal Lutheran is back in action tomorrow when the Regals head to St. Katherine Feb. 15 at 12 p.m.
