THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Nearly every singles match went three sets as Cal Lutheran battled Hardin-Simmons to the very end, but the Cowgirls would come away victorious, handing the Regals their second straight loss.

The Regals (6-3, 0-2 SCIAC) found their success in doubles, taking two of the three matches played. HSU rallied on the singles side as they took all but one of the matches in the competition.

Lilijana Peters-Semak and Brennan Foreman got things started for CLU as they cruised to an 8-5 victory in the first match of the day. JoAnn Taylor and Joslin Seaberg followed by winning their match with an identical score line, 8-5.

Foreman was the only Regal to win her singles match, gutting out a three-set win 6-3, 6-7, 7-5.

Heidi Levanen, Taylor and Seaberg all took their opponents to three sets as well, but were unable to come out on top.

Carolina Groff Hinojosa was a part of a very entertaining final match, but unfortunately fell in a third-set tiebreak 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Cal Lutheran faces another team from Texas in their next match as Southwestern (Tex.) will meet the Regals at the Poulson Tennis Courts on Mar. 13 at 4 p.m.
