Regals Claim 13 Events, Sweep Redlands and Whittier

WHITTIER, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's swimming & diving team flexed as they swept Redlands and Whittier on Saturday afternoon.

The Regals won 13 events as they defeated Redlands 215-75 and Whittier 216-62. It was the final meet of the regular season as the team turns its attention to the SCIAC Championships.

Madi Bodhidatta led the way with three individual wins and Nektaria Anagnostou, Kendall Moffitt and Alice Peterson added two each. The team also won both relays, the 200 medley and 800 freestyle.

Bodhidatta shined as she claimed the 50 free with 24.25 seconds, the 100 free with 53.46 and the 100 butterfly with 59.71. Anagnostou took the 200 breaststroke with 2:31.32 and the 200 individual medley with 2:17.81. Moffitt handled the long distance events and won the 500 free with 5:18.60 and the 1000 free with 10:55.47. Peterson then took the 100 backstroke with 1:01.39 and the 200 back with 2:12.53.

The team of Alana Tamura, Tori Portillo, Bodhidatta and Peterson won the 200 medley relay with 1:51.17 and Peterson, Moffitt, Paige Woodside and Julia Benko took the 800 free relay with 8:06.87.

Cal Lutheran made it to the top of the podium in two more events as Woodside took the 200 free with 2:00.27 and Tamura won the 200 fly with 2:16.53.

The Regals were the runner-up in three more events, making it every event in the top-two. Portillo took silver in the 100 breast with 1:10.97 and Maddie Greig was second in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with 195.95 and 198.75, respectively.

The SCIAC Championships are Feb. 15-18.
