Peterson, Bodhidatta Win Event Versus CMS, La Verne; Regals Celebrate Senior Day

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's swim & dive hosted Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne for Senior Day on Saturday at the Samuelson Aquatics Center. The Regals defeated La Verne 217-27, but fell to CMS 215-79.

Before the meet, Cal Lutheran honored their graduating class of Kyrie Fairbairn, Eve Miyagishima, Alexa Modry and Madisyn Morin.

Alice Peterson and Madi Bodhidatta led the Regals as they both claimed their event. Peterson won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of one minute and 55.89 seconds and Bodhidatta took the 100 free with 53.99.

The Regals had three runner-up finishes on the day. Kendall Moffitt was second in the 200 butterfly with 2:08.16, Bodhidatta was second in the 100 fly with 58.16 and Peterson, Breann Bracken, Paige Woodside and Moffitt combined for second in the 400 free relay with 3:45.14.

Cal Lutheran made the podium in six more events. The team of Peterson, Tori Portillo, Alana Tamura and Bodhidatta combined for third in the 200 medley relay with 1:50.35, Nektaria Anagnostou was third in the 1,000 free with 11:46.62, Portillo was third in the 100 breaststroke with 1:09.75, Julia Benko was third in the 200 backstroke with 2:14.79 and Anagnostou was third in the 400 individual medley with 4:57.88.

More top finishers for the Regals was Tamura in the 100 back (fourth, 1:02.02), Bracken in the 50 free (fourth, 25.74), Portillo in the 200 breast (fourth, 2:33.09) and Maddie Greig in the 1-meter (fifth, 184.85) and 3-meter dive (201.90).


The Regals continue the season next Saturday at Whittier. Cal Lutheran will compete in a tri-meet with Whittier and Redlands.
