Regals Claim 11 Events, Defeat Caltech; Moffitt Three Wins, Bodhidatta, Peterson Two Wins Each

PASADENA, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving won 11 events in a dual against Caltech on Saturday afternoon. 

Caltech hosted the dual as the Regals defeated the Beavers 174-122. On top of the 11 event wins, Cal Lutheran was runner-up in four more. 

Kendall Moffitt led the way with three individual wins and Madi Bodhidatta and Alice Peterson had two each. Tori Portillo and Alana Tamura both claimed an event and the Regals also took the 400 freestyle and medley relays. 

Moffitt recorded her trio of wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle, 200 butterfly and 500 free. She crossed the finish line with 11 minutes and 4.17 seconds in the 1,000 free, 2:14.20 in the 200 back and 5:26.27 in the 500 free. 

Bodhidatta made a mark on the program's top-10 list as she won the 50 free. She lowered her fifth best mark with 24.34. She then took the 100 free with 54.17. 

Peterson continued the success for the Regals. She claimed the 200 free with 1:59.69 and the 200 backstroke with 2:13.62. 

The wins kept coming as Potillo took the 100 breaststroke with 1:11.04. Tamura cracked the top-10 list as she won the 100 fly with the program's eighth fastest time of 1:00.62. 

The relay races won by the Regals included Peterson, Portillo, Tamura and Bodhidatta in the 400 medley with 4:05.66 and then Bodhidatta, Peterson, Breann Bracken and Moffitt in the 400 free with 3:44.39. 

Cal Lutheran was the runner-up in four events and competed in one more. Maddie Greig was second in both diving events. She scored 187.65 points off the one-meter board and 205.50 off three-meter.

Portillo was second in the 200 breast and recorded the 10th fastest time in program history as she touched the wall with 2:35.31. Julia Benko rounded out the silver awards and was second in the 100 back with 1:03.68. The Regals also raced in the 200 IM. Cal Lutheran's top finisher was Nektaria Anagnostou in fourth with 2:22.13. 

The Regals are at home next weekend for their season opener. Cal Lutheran host Occidental on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
