200 Medley Relay Team Sets School Record at Occidental Invite

LOS ANGELES — Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving recorded 11 marks on the top-10 list and won five events at the Occidental Invite. 

The meet was over Saturday and Sunday. The Regals competed against a trio of SCIAC schools, Occidental, Caltech and Redlands.

Alice Peterson, Tori Portillo, Alana Tamura, and Madi Bodhidatta set the school record in the 200-yard medley relay with one minute and 49.54 seconds. The quartet placed second in the event. 

More changes to the top-10 list included Bodhidatta  moving up to third in the 50 free (24.15) and 100 free (52.57), Nektaria Anagnostou is now fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.65), fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:13.86) and sixth in the 400 IM (4:46.61), Portillo is now sixth in the 100 breast (1:08.86), Julia Benko is sixth in the 200 back (2:11.95) and seventh in the 100 back (1:01.35) and Breann Bracken is ninth in the 50 free (24.98). 

Kendall Moffitt led the way with three event wins. She claimed the 500 free with  5:09.92, the 200 butterlfy with 2:08.42 and the 1,650 free with 17:51.67. 

Peterson got the other two wins as she took the 200 free with 1:54.17 and the 200 back with 2:10.20. 

The Regals were the runner-up in 10 more events. Cal Lutheran was the runner-up in three relays, the 400 medley, 200 free and 200 medley. Bodhidatta took silver in three events, Anagnostou added two more and Benko and Maddie Greig had one each. 

This was the final meet of the fall for Cal Lutheran. They return to the pool on Jan. 7, at Pomona-Pitzer.
