THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — It was a sunny day as Cal Lutheran welcomed Occidental to the Samuelson Aquatics Center on Saturday. The Regals won seven events, but fell to the Tig=ers by the slim margin of 136-124.
The trio of Kendall Moffitt, Alice Peterson and Madi Bodhidatta won two events each and the Regals added a relay win.
On top of the wins, Bodihatta and Alana Tamura made a new mark in the record book. Bodhidatta bettered her fifth best mark in the 50 free with 24.35 seconds as she won the event. Tamura made two marks on the program list. She recorded the eight fastest mark on the 100 fly. She placed second with 1:00.59. She then lowered her 10th fastest mark in the 200 fly. She was the runner-up with 2:14.64.
Moffitt cruised to wins in the 1,000 and 500 free. She won the 1,000 with 11:06.34 and followed it up with 5:19.45 in the 500.
Peterson claimed the 200 free and 200 back. She was the first person to the finish line in the 200 free with 1:59.25 and she went onto win the 200 back with 2:13.70.
Bodhidatta won the 50 free and then took the 100 free with 53.65. She combined with Peterson, Breann Bracken and Moffitt to take the 200 free relay with 1:39.86.
The Regals had three runner-up finishes, one of which was a relay. Nektaria Anagnostou was second in the 200 breast with 2:32.78 and also placed second in the 200 IM with 2:18.54.
The team of Peterson, Tori Portillo. Tamura and Bodhidatta was the runner-up in the 200 medley relay with 1:51.54. The event featured two more events and the Regals took third in both. Julia Benko was third in the 100 back with 1:03.66 and Portillo was third in the 100 breast with 1:12.62.
The Regals continue the season next weekend at the Occidental Invite. The time is still to be determined.
