Regals Crack Top-25; Set Multiple Program Records in Shortened Season

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's golf was ranked in the top-25 for the entirety of the 2019-20 season according to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

The Regals were ranked as high as No. 13 and were currently No. 25. In just their ninth season in program history, the Purple and Gold were on pace and accomplished a memorable season.

The senior class has improved the program every year, with 2020 being the year to really make a mark. Even in the shortened season, the graduating class of Chloe Barnes, Brooke Logsdon, Erica Mitchell and Hannah Pasco did just that.

The season consisted of three tournaments in the fall and three in the spring. Cal Lutheran placed fourth or better in five of the six tournaments and took home silver at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. The Regals also placed bronze at the George Fox Invitational and fourth at the CA State Intercollegiate and Redlands Invitational.

The four Regals are all over the school record book as Mitchell holds the program record for lowest round (68), Logsdon is second in lowest 36-hole score (148) and Pasco is tied for ninth in lowest 54-hole score (242).

The team's scores were also reset as Barnes, Logsdon and Mitchell contributed to the lowest 18-hole round (294) and the same trio helped set the lowest 36-hole score (605). In the 2017-18 season, Barnes, Mitchell and Pasco helped set the top mark for season stroke average for a team (324.65).

Barnes (West Linn, Ore.) has been with the program the past four years. She has competed in 21 tournaments for the Purple and Gold, with her top finish being 11th which she placed twice. Barnes has been named SCIAC Athlete of the Week once. She has been inducted into the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society every year.

Logsdon (Simi Valley, Calif.) has made an impact on the program, in just two years with the Regals. She played in 12 tournaments and had her coming out party during her senior season. In what would be the final tournament of 2020, Logsdon finished fourth as she led the Regals to fourth at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. She is a member of the CLU Scholar-Athlete Society.

Mitchell (Vista, Calif.) has played in 24 tournaments over her four-year career. She has placed in the top-10 five times during her career with her best finish being a runner up. In the six tournament this year, Mitchell finished in the top-20 four times. Her name is a steadfast in the record books as she helped the Regals make a huge jump in 2020.

Pasco (Happy Valley, Ore.) has competed in 18 tournaments in four season with the Regals. The top finish of her career was a tie for ninth and she has also placed in the top-15 once more. Pasco has been instrumental to the Regals' success over the past four years, as the program has turned into one of the top teams in the country.
