Regals Runner-Up, All Five Golfers Place Top-15 at Schreiner Spring Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas — Cal Lutheran women's golf took second, led by Brooke Logsdon in fourth, as the Regals competed in the Schreiner Spring Shootout, held Monday and Tuesday at Comanche Trace – Hills/Creeks. 

The tournament featured 11 teams and 52 individuals, totaling 36 holes with a Par of 72. All five Regals placed in the top-15 as the Purple and Gold took silver with a two-round score of 81-over-par and 657 strokes. The Regals shot a 337 in the first round and a tournament-low 320 in the second. 

Logsdon had the best finish of her senior season as she took home fourth. She fired a 10-over-par 82 over the first 18 holes and followed it up by firing a 78 over the second 18. She moved up three spots and finished at 16-over-par with 160 strokes.

Claire Cornejo tied for eighth as she made it two Regals in the top-10. She fired an 84 and 82 in the first and second rounds, respectively. She finished at 22-over-par and totaled 166 strokes. 

Grace Cornejo and Tara Ng tied for 11th to round out the team scoring. The duo was 23-over-par with 167 strokes. G. Cornejo shot an 88 and 79 as she moved up 15 spots on the final day. Ng also improved om the second day, moving up four spots, as she recorded an 86 and 81. 

Erica Mitchell also competed for the Regals and made it all five golfers in the top-15. She was consistent over the two days and finished in 15th at 24-over-par with 168 strokes. She tallied an 85 and a 83.

The Regals are back in action next week as they host their annual CLU Regals Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
