CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.— Cal Lutheran's Lauren Fesler earned the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar award which was announced Monday. The senior had a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.78 and graduated with a major in business administration.  

Fesler (Sylmar, Calif.) was recognized with the honor for the second consecutive season. The senior captain helped CLU finish fifth in the SCIAC conference championship. She played in all 19 tournaments and nine rounds this past season. Her best finish of the year was the CLU Regals Invitational as she tied for fifth at 22-over-par (84-82-166). She also helped CLU take second at the UPS Ladie's Invitational and fourth at the CLU Regals Invitational. 

A total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with the minimum cumulative GPA being 3.50. 

The WGCA is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. It was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
