Regals Finish 5th in SCIAC

PASADENA, Calif. —Cal Lutheran women's golf finished fifth in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) after recording a three-round score of 123-over-par at the SCIAC Championships which was held Thursday through Saturday at the Brookside Golf Course.

The conference championship consists of the SCIAC No. 1, No. 2 and the SCIAC Championships. The Regals got better every round as they shot a 333 on day one, 329 on day two and 325 on day three. Overall, CLU finished with 2,265 strokes, just six in front of sixth-place, Whittier. 

Brooke Logsdon tied for 16th at the event after firing a 28-over-par with 244 strokes. She tallied an 8-over-par 80 over the first 18 holes, a 79 on the second 18 and an 85 on the final 18. 

Ally Gaskill scored the second-best total for the Regals and tied for 27th at 35-over-par. She recorded a 79, an 87 and an 85 for 251 strokes.

Chloe Barnes and Erica Mitchell rounded out the team score at the championships and tied for 29th at 37-over-par (253). Barnes improved each round and shot a 90, 84 and 79 while Mitchell tallied an 87, 84 and 82.  

Lauren Fesler and Grace Cornejo also competed for the Violet and Gold. Fesler tied for 31st and shot 38-over-par (87-88-79-254) and Cornejo placed 33rd at 39-over-par (87-82-86-255).

The conference championships rounded out spring play for the Regals. They finished fifth out of eight teams.
