Kingsmen Baseball Enters D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University baseball is No. 23 in the Week 1 D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 25 which was announced Monday. 

The Kingsmen are off to a hot start and entered the first poll of the year with a record of 10-1. The Purple and Gold were receiving votes in the preseason poll. 

With at least double-digits at-bats, Jalen Parks (14) leads the way with an average of .429. Max Heverly (35) is next with .400, Gordon Richardson (18) has .389 and Kyle Reuser (37) is at .378.

Heverly leads the team with 13 RBI, and two walk-off hits, as Zach Bullard has 12 RBI and Reuser has 10. 

Sean Blandino, Bullard, Kyle Reuser and Richardson all have a homerun. Bullard adds six doubles while Heverly has four and Blandino, Nolan Brooks, Austin Carrillo, Reuser and Ben Wangrin each have two. 

Tristan Dupont, Alexander Rivas and Chris Torres have two wins each. Torres leads the team with an earned-run-average of 0.61 in 14.2 innings pitched. Dupont is next with 1.23 and Matt Campo has 1.29 with three saves and one win.

The Kingsmen have won five straight games and look to continue that streak on Friday against Whitman at home. First pitch is set for 2:30 pm.
