Kingsmen Shut-Out Beavers In 16-0 Win

Pasadena, Calif. – The Kingsmen hit the road for their first conference game of the 2021-2022 season. They traveled to Caltech and came home with a 16-0 win, ending the game in the seventh inning.

The Kingsmen opened up the game with three runs in the top of the first. They followed up in the third inning with another two Kingsmen crossing home plate.

Kyle Reuser, the Purple and Gold's second baseman, tallied three RBIs and homerun. Another standout for the Kingsmen was Alexander Rivas. He secured the win for the Kingsmen and threw 42 strikes out of 55 pitches. He faced 16 batters and had nine strikeouts.

The fourth and fifth innings were silent on both ends but the top of the sixth is when the real action began. The Kingsmen scored 11 runs on the Beavers and ended the game in a run-rule.

Zach Lafata did well at the plate and went 2-2 with one RBI. Ben Wangrin led the Kingsmen with four RBIs, one of which was a double.

Sean Blandino and Nolan Brooks each tallied two RBIs. Brooks stepped in as the designated hitter and went two for three from the plate. Jalen Parks, Brendan Durfee, Harrison Dunkel, and Sebastian Smith each tabbed an RBI themselves.

Zach Creighton delivered on the mound with nine strikes out of 12 pitches. He had three strike outs as a result. Bryan Tierney had nine strikes himself out of 10 pitches.

The Kingsmen host Caltech in Ullman Stadium tomorrow at 11 am and 2 pm.
