Trento Named Women’s Volleyball Specialist of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University student-athlete Julia Trento was selected Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. 

Trento (La Verne, Calif.) earned Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week. Cal Lutheran went 1-1, battling No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Chapman. The senior libero recorded double-digit digs in both matches. She had 13 digs, three assists and two services aces in a hard fought 3-0 loss to CMS. Trento and the Regals rebounded to sweep Chapman as she recorded 17 digs and six assists. For the week, she averaged five digs per set.

The Regals are back home on Tuesday. Cal Lutheran host Caltech with first serve set for 7 p.m.
