Cal Lutheran Announces Brianne Talboom as Associate Athletic Director

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran department of athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Brianne Talboom as Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). 

As a member of the athletics administrative team, Talboom will oversee student-athlete success and compliance, while supporting the department's diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence efforts. She will also serve on the Campus Care Team, Athletics Care Team and Academic Success Committee/Team. 

Talboom is an experienced athletics administrator with over 18 years of demonstrated excellence in diverse recreational and athletic settings. "I am excited with the opportunity and experience that Brianne brings to Cal Lutheran," notes Director of Athletics Holly Roepke. "Brianne fills a role that I am deeply passionate about, and we are excited about the impact she will have on our student-athletes and campus community."

Talboom comes to Cal Lutheran from La Sierra University, where she was the Associate Athletic Director of Internal and External Operations and fundraising, while also managing clubs and leagues. During her time at La Sierra (2015-22), she also absorbed the roles of Senior Woman Administrator, Interim Sports Information Director, Adjunct Health and Exercise Science Professor and formerly was the Women's Basketball Head Coach (2015-18).

Prior to La Sierra, Talboom had a short stint in Recreation at Loma Linda University from 2013-15, previously having worked in athletics at Loma Linda Academy from 2004-13, as the Assistant Athletic Director and physical education teacher, while coaching the girls' varsity flag football, basketball and varsity softball programs.

Talboom has served on a plethora of committees and boards ranging from athletics advisory, Title IX, student life, NAIA California Pacific Conference and more. She has professional affiliations with National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, College Sports Information Directors of America, National Intramural Recreational Sports Association and NAIA California Pacific Conference Women Inspire Network.

Talboom received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Walla Walla University (College Place, Wash.) graduating Cum Laude in 2004. She went on to receive a Master of Arts in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University Irvine (Irvine, Calif.) in 2013, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
