Arik Smith led the Kingsmen to three wins during the week with none bigger than a 69-66 upset over No. 15 Chapman. The senior guard played all 40 minutes, scoring 18 points and pulling down six rebounds in the win. Just two nights before, he set a career-high with a 33-point performance in a 78-76 overtime victory over Whittier. Smith hit back-to-back threes to erase a five-point deficit late in regulation and his jumper with 22 seconds left sent the game into overtime. On Saturday afternoon in a 72-52 victory over Caltech, Smith reached double-figures with 10 points in just 19 minutes of play.
