Kingsmen Place Fourth, Kyaw Ties for Seventh

PASADENA, Calif. — The California Lutheran men's golf team finished fourth and was led by Ryan Kyaw as he tied for seventh at the SCIAC No. 2, which was held Saturday and Sunday at the Brookside Golf Club.

The SCIAC No. 2 included eight teams and 48 individuals. The tournament had a Par of 72. Occidental hosted the event.

Kyaw led the Kingsmen at 6-over-par. He shot a 74 on Saturday and followed it up with a 76 on Sunday. He finished with 150 strokes as he tied for seventh.

Cal Lutheran's Drake Jones and Jake Rosen made it three Kingsmen in the top-15 as the duo tied for 14th with 153 strokes (9-over-par). Jones shot a 72 on the first 18, but an 81 on the final 18. Rosen shot a 74 and then a 79.

Andrew McLean made the biggest jump for the Kingsmen on day two. He shot a 79 on day one and then a 76 over the final 18. He moved up seven spots and tied for 26th at 11-over-par with 155 strokes.

Slater Sivage and Tyler Ferrier also competed for the Violet and Gold. Sivage placed 32nd at 13-over-par (74-83-157) and Ferrier tied for 36th at 17-over-par (81-80-161).

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the event at 9-over-par (290-295-585). La Verne was the runner-up at 17-over-par (292-301-593) and Redlands was third at 25-over-par (297-304-601). Cal Lutheran was fourth at 29-over-par (294-311-605).

Individually, La Verne's Pitiluk Phanomchai took home the title as he shot Even (71-73-144). Pomona-Pitzer's Conor Rooney (73-72-145) and CMS' Johnny Brandt (79-66-145) tied for second at 1-over-par.

Up next for Cal Lutheran is a scrimmage with Chapman on Thursday in Moorpark, Calif., at the Tierra Rejada Golf Club.
