Kingsmen, Panthers Compete in a Friendly

TUSTIN, Calif. — The California Lutheran men's golf team competed in a friendly with the Chapman Panthers Monday afternoon at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club.

The Kingsmen and the Panthers both had eight student-athletes compete. There were no team scores as each golfer competed individually. Every golfer competed in one round and shot 18 holes.

Cal Lutheran's Brian Helmuth had the best score for the Kingsmen and tied for second. He fired a 4-over-par 76.  

Ricardo Torres was right behind Helmuth as he finished with a 77 and in fifth-place. Nick Friend was next for CLU and shot a 6-over-par 78.

Andrew McLean and Craig Thorlakson tied as each shot an 81. Also finishing in a tie for the Violet and Gold was Jake Rosen and Tyler Shuster as they both recorded an 82. Jackson Murrell rounded out the scores for Cal Lutheran as he tallied a 91.

The Kingsmen are back at it March 19-20 at the Centenary Invitational which will be held at Stonebridge Golf Course in Bossier, La.
