SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Cal Lutheran's Tyler Ferrier and Ryan Kyaw tied for ninth as they led the Kingsmen to a fourth-place finish at The Master's Invitational which was held Monday and Tuesday at Sand Canyon Country Club.
The tournament featured 10 teams and 66 individuals. The teams played 36 holes Monday and then the final 18 Tuesday. The Par was 72.
Ferrier and Kyaw both finished the tournament at 4-over-par with 220 strokes. Ferrier started the final round tied for 13th, he shot a 1-under-par 71 and moved up to ninth. He shot a 72 on the first 18, 77 on the second 18 and finished with his best of round 71.
Kyaw got better as the tournament went on. He shot a 77 in the first round and a 74 in the second. He entered the third round tied for 17th. He fired a 69 in his final 18 and jumped seven golfers as he tied Ferrier for ninth.
CLU's Slater Sivage finished his three-round tournament in 34th-place at 16-over-par (79-79-74-232. Drake Jones rounded out the team score and finished 41st at 21-over-par (80-85-72). Nick Friend competed as an individual and tied for 46th at 22-over-par (79-79-80-238). Zane Jarrett also competed for the Violet and Gold and tied for 46th at 25-over-par (80-79-82-241).
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps took home the team title as the Stage finished at 21-over-par (302-300-283-885). The Master's University was second at 33-over-par (294-306-297-897). Redlands was one stroke back in third at 34-over-par (305-305-288-898). Cal Lutheran started the final round in sixth but fired a 286, the second best score for a round at the tournament. The Kingsmen jumped two teams and finished in fourth at 39-over-par (308-309-286-903).
UCLA's Phil Delisi won the individual title at 7-under-par (73-69-67-209). Teammate Jack Ireland was the runner-up at 5-under-par (72-73-66-211). The Master's University's Samuel Eisenhuth rounded out the top-three at 3-under-par (69-71-73-213).
The Kingsmen continue the season verses Chapman at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club in Tustin, Calif.
