Women’s Water Polo Earns All-Academic Team; 13 Regals Garner Individual Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The 2020 Cal Lutheran women's water polo team earned All-Academic Team which was announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). Individually, 12 Regals garnered recognition. 

The Regals were looking for back-to-back Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships and a shot at the Division III National Championship. While being focused on that, the Violet and Gold still excelled in the classroom and combined for a 3.46 grade-point average (GPA).

The individual recognition has three different distinctions. Student-Athletes earned Outstanding with a GPA between 4.0-3.71, Superior with 3.70-3.41, and Excellent with 3.40-3.20. 

Leading the way with an Outstanding GPA was Christin Hirn, Elyse Koe, Victoria Rose Meek, Bethany Metcalfe, Maddie Stuart and Mackenzie Thomas. Earning the Superior honor was Jessica Diaz, Kemi Dijkstra, Isabella Garcia, Kaitlin GardhouseRachel Ray and Lexi Rond. Rounding out the group and earning Ecellent honors was Kim Reidel.
