CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's tennis faced a tough opponent as they took on No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday afternoon. The Athenas won .the dual with a score of 9-0.
CMS started the dual by taking all three doubles matches. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi fell 8-1 at the No. 1, Luisa Garcia and Lauren Sebastian were defeated 8-2 at the No. 2, and Reya Maestas and Kayla Kling lost 8-1 at the No. 3.
The Athenas carried that momentum over to singles play. Bufkin fell 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 1, Garcia was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2, Sebastian lost 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3, Ahmadi was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4, Maestas fell 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 and Kling lost 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 6.
The Regals are back in action on Tuesday. Cal Lutheran hosts Whittier at 3 p.m.
