Regals Outlasted by Chapman 6-3

ORANGE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's tennis and Chapman were tied at 3-3, but the Regals were outlasted by the Panthers 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Regals are 7-3 on the year and the conference loss drops them to 0-2. 

Chapman took the early lead, winning two of the three doubles matches. The Regals score the first point as Carmen Bufkin and Lauren Sebastian won 6-3 at the No. 2. 

The Panthers then grabbed the lead as Gerda Jucys and Henna Levanen were defeated 8-3 at the No. 2 and Reya Maestas and Mina Ahmadi fell 8-6 at the No. 3. 

The Regals quickly tied the match at 2-2 as Bufkin went 2-0 om the day, winning 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles spot. 

The match was then tied as Sebastian fell 3-6, 1-6 at the No. 2 and Ahmadi won at the No. 6. Chapman then too the final three matches, which all went to three sets. Garcia was defeated 6-2, 4-6, 2-6 at the No. 3, Kayla Kling fell 2-6, 6-3, 2-6 at the No. 5 and Levanen fell 6-3, 1-6, 3-6 at the No. 4. 

The Regals continue conference play on Friday. Cal Lutheran hosts Occidental at 3 p.m.
