Regals Suffer First Defeat; Fall to No. 35 Babson

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.  – Cal Lutheran women's tennis suffered its first defeat of the season and were defeated by No. 33 Babson on Monday afternoon. 

The Beavers took all three doubles matches as Carmen Bufkin and Luisa Garcia lost 8-3 at the No. 1 singles spot. Reya Maestas and Lauren Sebastian fell 8-4 at the No. 2 and Kayla Kling and Gerda Jucys were defeated 8-2 at the No. 3. 

In singles play, Bufkin went the distance, but fell 6-2, 6-3, 11-9 at the No. 1. Garcia was defeated 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2, Mina Ahmadi lost 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3, Maestas was defeated 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4, Sebastian fell 6-4, 10-4 at the No. 5 and Henna Levanen fell 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6. 

The Regals hit the road for their next four duals. Cal Lutheran takes on Murray St. on Sunday at 8 a.m.
