ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week 23 Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran golfer Marissa McCardell was selected as the Women's Golf AOW.
In the first tournament of the spring season, McCardell led the Regals as she finished 14th out of 80 individuals.
The sophomore shot a 78 in round one and a 79 in round two. She finished at 13-over par with 157 strokes.
A native of Clovis Calif., McCardell led CLU to a tie for seventh at the Point Loma Invitational which was held Feb. 5-6. The tournament featured 15 teams including SCIAC opponent Redlands.
The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
