Cartozian Tied for Fifth, Kingsmen Sixth at SCIAC #2

POMONA, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's golf team competed at the SCIAC #2 on Saturday and Sunday. It is the second of three legs that make up the scoring for a SCIAC Championship.

The teams played 18 holes on each day at Mountain Meadows Golf Club. The Par for the course is 70. The tournament consisted of eight teams and 40 individuals. 

Competing for the Kingsmen was Adam Cartozian, Blake Fitzhugh, JP Guimaraes Jr., Aaron Moore, and Hudson Solters. The team placed at 32-over-par. The Kingsmen fired a 292 over the first 18 holes, but recorded a 300 over the second 18 and finished with 592 strokes. 

Cartozian tied for fifth as he finished at 1-over-par. He carded a 68 in the first round and then a 73 in the second. He had a total of 141 strokes. 

Moore was next and tied for 16th. He finished at 8-over-par with 148 strokes. He shot a 73 on Saturday and a 75 on Sunday.

Solters and Guimaraes Jr. both tied for 31st and Fitzhugh rounded out the team in 35th. Solters shot a 77 in each round to finish with 154 strokes. Guimaraes Jr. recorded a 74, but then followed it up with an 80. Fitzhugh opened the event with an 80 and improved with a 75 for a total of 155.

Next up for the Kingsmen is the UCSB Invitational. It is a two-day tournament and starts on April 10.
