Cartozian Tied for Third, Kingsmen Seventh at CLU Kingsmen Invitational

MOORPARK, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's golf hosted their CLU Kingsmen Invitational at the Moorpark Country Club on Monday. 

The tournament featured 11 teams and 60 individuals. The teams played 36 holes on Monday due to rain in the forecast on Tuesday. The Kingsmen placed seventh as they finished with 35-over-par. They shot 311 strokes in round one and improved with 300 strokes in round two. 

Adam Cartozian finished the highest for the Kingsmen and tied for third. He shot a 74 in round one and a 3-under par 69 in the second. He recorded 143 strokes and ended his tournament at 1-under-par.

JP Guimaraes Jr. made it two Kingsmen in the top-10. He shot a 74 in both rounds and ended with 148 strokes. He tied for 10th at 4-over-par. 

Tanner Stewart, Hudson Solters, and Aidan Allen all placed in the top-20. Stewart tied for 16th at 7-over-par (73-78-151) and Solters (79-73-152) and Allen (76-76-152) tied for 18th at 8-over-par. 

Also competing for the Kingsmen was Blake Fitzhugh as he tied for 21st at 9-over-par (80-73-153), Aaron Moore tied for 26th at 10-over-par (78-76-154) and Derek Hahn (74-83-157) and Jimmy Solano (80-77-157) tied for 35th at 13-over-par. 

Up next for the Kingsmen is the SCIAC #2. The event is hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps April 1-2.
