Becker, Neufeld-Griffin Selected SCIAC Athletes of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Cal Lutheran student-athletes Olivia Becker and Connor Neufeld-Griffin earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. 

Becker and Neufeld-Griffin swept the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week for the Purple and Gold. Both garnered the honor for the first time in their careers.

Becker (Fort Collins, Colo.) competed for the Regals at the Moorpark Open. The senior raced to a second place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:02.16. 

Neufeld-Griffin (Portland, Ore.) led the Kingsmen at the Moorpark Open meet. The junior won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:46.15, and broke the school record by nearly four seconds. In the 1500-meter event, he ran the 22nd fastest time in the nation (3:53.39).
