ALISO VIEJO, Calif.– This morning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week 21 Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran's Stefan Nelson was named the Men's Golf Athlete of the Week. 

Nelson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) collected the first Athlete of the Week award of his career. The junior led Cal Lutheran and tied for 31^st(out of 80) at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational. He shot a 77 in the first round and a 75 in the second for a total of 152 strokes (8-over-par). 

Nelson had the third-best scoring average on Par-3 holes with 3.00 and tied for the fifth-most birdies with six. He helped the Violet and Gold to a 12^th-place finish (311-306-617). 

The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
