Kingsmen Release 2019 Schedule

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's golf team released its schedule for 2019. The season is highlighted by multiple tournaments that will help prepare the Kingsmen for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championships grind.

Cal Lutheran starts its 2019 campaign at the No. 6 spot in the West Regional Rankings. The Kingsmen had two tournaments in the fall and tied for third at the CA State Intercollegiate and tied for 10that the Oglethorpe Invitational.

"Our men's golf spring schedule is set and we are looking forward to a great season," said golf head coach Jeff Lindgren. "We are starting the season at the Cal State San Marcos Invitational. We have played in this event many years and are excited to play against several Division II and NAIA schools."

The Violet and Gold get their spring season underway and travel to Vista, Calif., for the Cal State University San Marcos Fujkura Invitational Feb. 4-5.

After a dual with Chapman on Feb. 12, the Kingsmen get into SCIAC play. Seven rounds will determine the SCIAC Champion. The first leg is 36 holes at the Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills, Calif., on Feb. 23-24.

During March, the Violet and Gold compete in three tournaments. They will be in Santee, Calif., for the UCSD Tournament on March 4-5, the Schreiner University Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, on March 11-12 and the La Verne West Cup on March 25-26.

"We will be playing in the UCSD tournament for the first time in 15 years," said Lindgren. "There will be a lot of Division II and NAIA schools in the field. We will then travel to the Schreiner University Invitational. This will be a great opportunity to play against a lot on other Division III schools from the West Region."

Cal Lutheran plays in the final two legs of the SCIAC Championship in April. The third and fourth rounds will be on April 6-7 in Industry, Calif., at the Industry Hills C.C. The final three rounds are April 18-20 at Brookside G.C. in Pasadena, Calif.

The winner of the SCIAC Championship will represent the conference at the NCAA Championship. This year's championship will be held on May 14-17 in Nicholasville, Ky.
