LOS ANGELES, Calif. – After an early series lead with a win on senior day for the Kingsmen, the Purple and Gold went one and one on their road double header to come out with the series win. The Kingsmen dropped game one 1-6 but rallied back and took game two 12-2.
On the mound to start game one for 4.2 innings was Max Kendall. Kendall tallied four strike outs before he was relieved by John Frazier for one inning. Bryan Tierney was on the mound for one out during the game and Clay Rickerman finished off the last two innings.
The Kingsmen started game one with a run in the top of the first before the scoring halted. Brendan Durfee tallied an RBI with a single to right field scoring Austin Carrillo.
Game two is when the Purple and Gold unloaded their bats and secured the series. Alexander Rivas was on the mound to start game two and got the win after five innings and four strike outs. Tristan Dupont came in for one inning and Matt Campo closed out the last two before the Tigers were mercy ruled.
Three Kingsmen tallied homeruns, Jalen Parks accounted for two of the four. Max Heverly and Zach Lafata also sent one out of the park. Parks led the team with five RBIs and Heverly followed him with three.
Durfee had two RBIs while Lafata and Zach Bullard made up the last two. Both Durfee and Heverly recorded a double with Sean Blandino and Kyle Reuser tabbing one as well.
The Purple and Gold put up a total of 16 hits to close out their regular season games.
The Kingsmen clinch the fourth seed for the post season SCIAC tournament and will take on No. 1 Chapman in game one. Game time and date is TBA.
