Kingsmen Have Bad Day At The Plate In Loss To Pacific Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Kingsmen had a tough day in the batter's box against Pacific Lutheran. Only getting a single digit amount of hits throughout nine innings led to the Kingsmen 1-3 loss.
Brendan Durfee and Kyle Reuser each tallied three hits but Reuser was the RBI holder. Durfee had two doubles but it wasn't enough to get the Purple and Gold in the scoring column.

Zach Bullard led the Kingsmen with two stolen bases while three other Kingsmen tallied one hit. This concluded most of the offense this afternoon.

Chris Torres started on the mound for the Kingsmen and remained there for five innings. Torres faced 25 batters and threw 55 strikes with a total of five strikeouts.

Clay Rickerman came in for the sixth inning and threw two strikeouts. Rickerman threw six strikes out of just seven throws.

The Kingsmen were down 3-1 when Will Watson made his way to the mound. Watson had started at shortstop but closed out the last three innings for the Purple and Gold pitching. Watson faced 11 batters and put up four strikeouts.

Though Watson is just a freshman he's shown great flexibility and stats for the Kingsmen.

The Purple and Gold host La Verne on Tuesday at 3 pm in Ullman Stadium and look to get back in the win column.
